Case Study - Insight East
The Insight East web site is run by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA)
to provide organisations with an information gateway for the East of England region.
The web site features knowledge management and resource management facilities as well as powerful
tools for site managers. The site interoperates with the Eastern Region Public Health Observatory (ERPHO)
web site to allow users to search both sites simultaneously.
The site was designed to meet government standards for
metadata and interoperability (e-GMS,
e-GIF,
GCL, etc). Content can be "geo-tagged" to
drive geographically-focussed views on sub-areas within the region.
The site was updated in 2007 to add support for the Integrated Public Sector Vocabulary (IPSV)
and additional types of content, and was rebranded as "Insight East" in 2009 to reflect the new focus.
