Interoperability
The coordinated exchange of information between systems allows the value of that information
to be maximised.
Hyperspheric Solutions uses standard technologies, such as SOAP-based web services, to achieve the greatest possible scope
for information exchange between information partners. Our formal approach to the use of metadata, taxonomies and XML
schema in our systems ensures that the benefits offered by using such standards for information exchange are not lost due to
ambiguity or uncertainty over the meaning of the information that is being exchanged.
Interoperability is used in our systems to provide support for processes such as federated searching
and metadata harvesting.
Benefits:
- Information can be shared between heterogeneous systems, maximising the value of the information.
- A formal approach ensures that the meaning and value of information is not "lost in translation" when it is exchanged.
